Research
Christian Discipleship and Economics : Unlike Larry Iannaconne and company that conduct important research on religion with economic paradigms such as Industrial Organization this field takes a Christian perspective and asks what tools of economics can best investigate inquiries into matters of faith. For example, one current project I have underway is titled, "The Parable of the Great Banquet: Insights from the Laboratory" in which some of the causal relationships are investigated about salvation.
Public Goods : These experiments have a long history and lessons from institutions that improve or hinder public good provision are very applicable today.
Reverse Crowd Out : This is an extension of the public goods research regarding whether increases in private charitable giving and expenditures can cause a reduction in government expenditures on those same public goods.
Non-Profit Organizations : The opposite of the government is not the private sector but voluntary exchange. Nonprofit organizations have a critical role in the provision of public goods in communities.
